True Value Company, one of the world's largest member-owned hardware cooperatives with more than 4,000 independent retailers, is looking for an experienced Maintanence Worker who is interested in working in an environment that encourages quality, decision making & team work. In this role you will lead the maintanence aspects of a high-volume, multi-shift, distribution operation in our Denver, CO Regional Distribution Center (RDC).
In addition, this position will require you to repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the duties below. Performs repair functions and preventive maintenance in the areas of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, construction, and other tasks in support of warehouse operations.
•Performs Change Over and Set Up of production lines
•Troubleshoots and repairs factory equipment
•Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
•Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
•Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
•Repairs or replaces defective parts.
•Lubricates and cleans parts.
•Starts devices to test their performance.
•Performs plumbing and electrical functions and preventive maintenance operations to insure continued operations of the warehouse utilities.
•Contacts appropriate repair services to perform tasks beyond the capability or skills of the maintenance section.
•Will clean up HAZMAT spills and insure proper disposal of HAZMAT materials in accordance with existing policies and laws.
•Will assist in collection and disposal of warehouse garbage and packing materials.
•Will monitor waste compactor operations and insure vender removal of waste containers.
•Perform basic carpentry work.
•Perform other duties as required.
•The work is typically active and physical in nature, and requires normal accessibility to all work sites required of the position. The position may require extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
•The position is typically working in areas where air conditioning is unavailable and may be exposed to chemicals that are routinely present in the Company’s warehouse facilities.
•Normal physical mobility, which includes movement from place-to-place on the job taking distances and speed into account.
•Normal physical agility, which includes the ability to maneuver body while in place. Must be able to stand the majority of the day, walk 5 to 10 miles a day, bend, reach, twist and lift.
•Normal physical strength to handle and/or move objects up to 80 pounds, taking frequency into consideration.

•Normal coordination, including eye-hand and hand-foot.
•Normal endurance to complete the essential functions of the position.

•Twelve (12) months related experience in mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and building construction.
•Preventive Maintenance experience
•Line production experience a plus
•Must have ability to work in a team environment.
•Must have good attention to detail
•Must have basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
•Must have ability to follow written and verbal instructions on formulas •Ability to bend, climb, lift up to 25 lbs regularly, 50 lb frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
•Must have ability to work with chemicals, paints and solvents.
•Must be able to work over time, on holidays, weekends and respond to emergencies during nonscheduled work hours.
